Introduction To Bloodsmelting

*** Requirements ***

To bloodsmelt you need to get a main esper (the one you want to upgrade), a source esper (an esper you don't need), and some esper mediums (obtainable by trading in treasure bowls to tonni)

*** Introduction ***

Basically to start off, i would like to say that do not upgrade any esper under lvl 75, at level 75 is when it's actually worth it. (will be explained at a later time)

You should know what a main esper is, so i'm not going to go there.

A source esper can be any other esper, i suggest using trigams (level 1 esper from the esper store)
Buy about 18 lvl 1 espers.
Check through them and check for items with orange stats/heavenly or divine condition.

basically there is two types of different bloodsmelting.
Right about now you might be going, OH NO, things are going to get even more complicated.
Well, your wrong, i'm going to explain both step by step so you'll bloodsmelt like a pro.

*** When Buying Espers ***

When you buy the trigam it has a random chance of having an Orange stat or has the status of Heavenly or Divine.

*** Espers Under Level 75 ***

Theres no point in upgrading an esper that is under level 75 because the one you get from faction (level 15) is already heavenly, and level 75 really isn't that far away.
It's better to save god and get a chi then to get a divine level 15.

*** Types Of Bloodsmelting ***

The "two" different types of bloodsmelting is Generalization, and Specialization.

First off is "Generalization", it's exactly what it says.
Your esper will level up and get the same on all stats.
Like, your health and spirit will both go up by like 20, and your resistance will all go up by like 3.
This is the quickest way to rank up your esper to divine status.
This is good direction to go in when you do not have over 200g to spend, or you are under level 105.

Second is "Specialization", it's when you train your esper in a certain way.
When your esper levels up it will gain massive stats in only a few cataglories.
(ex. when my esper levels up it constantly gains over 15attack and massive hp/sp)
This is a long process and is not ment for the impatient.
To follow this process you must be willing to sacrafice time/money to the extremes.

Esper status (precious, heavenly, divine) is based off of the esper's current overall total growth.
Basically your esper has a growth that you can't see.
The growth system on it is exactly like pets.
The status precious, heavenly, and divine, are basically grade.
When you buy an esper it can have any random growth rate.
(at this time i do not know if esper growth rate is capped)
bloodsmelting is basically transfering growth rate from one esper to the main one.

*** Esper Growth Rate ***

Consider Esper as a Pet

Attack - 1000
hp - 1000
sp - 1000
resis
-1000
-1000
-
-
so forth

basically, you can say that's the average growth rate.
When you buy an esper each stat can basically go up or down a few % in growth.

Example.

Attack - 1090(orange)
Hp - 930
sp - 990
and so forth

Orange color means that the growth rate is high for that stat, we'll be coming back to this later when we talk more about specialization espers.

When you bloodsmelt your basically adding growth rate, that is why you want to upgrade a level one or two esper, anymore would be a waste.

*** How Growth Rate Transfers ***

Growth rate is transfered from minimum cap. (probably don't know what this means, i'll explain)

Average esper growth is... lets say..... 1000
your "SOURCE" esper is
Attack- 1020
hp - 990
sp - 990
para - 1010
stun - 1000
weak - 900

in this case
when you bloodsmelt and transfer growth rate, only basically your attack, para stat would get tranfered over since they are about the 1000 mark.
It's going to be 1020-1000 for a total of 20 difference, and the difference is added onto your main esper. Except this is with all the stats, that's why you use heavenly and divine. So no growth rate will drop.

*** Specialization Espers ***

If you read my earlier introductions on bloodsmelting you probably know what "Specialization" is now.
What you have to do is get espers with orange stats in the cataglories you want, stun, attack, hp, etc...
Now, get your esper to Divine by doing General Espering, and then bloodsmelt those orange stats on.
Since I forgot to mention that when specializing will cause some of the stats to go down, and main stats to go up.
So sometimes you lose a bit of growth in other areas.

*** How To Bloodsmelt ***

Get your main esper.
Go trade in your treasure bowl at tonni for some mediums.
Then buy 18 trigam espers at a time from the esper lady
Sort out all the heavenly or orange colored espers until you are content.
Put your main esper in main, and the trigam in source, and the medium in medium.
Click ok and you should have bloodsmelted.
This process may take from one bloodsmelt to a hundred bloodsmelts to get a divine esper.
If you just want a generlized esper just keep using heavenly and divine.

(NEW)*** Bloodsmelthing Specialized Espers ***

After you make a general esper, go get some orange stated trigrams.
What you do now is upgrade your main esper with 2 or 3 orange trigrams and 1 or 2 heavenly.
Basically everytime you use 2 or 3 orange stated trigrams, you'll have to use 1 or 2 heavenly trigrams after.
Why you ask?
Because purely using orange stated items will make your other stats' growth rate to drop.
This way you'll be keeping nice growth rate on all stats, and getting even more stats along the way.
The max ratio you want to go into is about 80%
which means, 4 orange to every 1 heavenly
anymore would drop your growth by too much.
50/50 isn't bad but i perfer 2:1 ratio.
Enjoy your new specialized esper!

*** My Esper ***

my esper is 50% general and 50% specialized
my esper grows fast in everything but my attack/hp/sp is expecially high

My Opinion - eh.... I should have done more of a specialized build, would have been more effective.

*** Pros / Cons ***

Pro - Specialization is better in most cases since it allows you to make up for your weakness. (ex. Skysong has HUGE silence resistance, so with this they can get their other resistance up)

Con - Expensive and may take many tries

Pro - Generlization increases all the stats fairly, for people who can't make up their mind and are short on cash

Con - Stats may not be as high as wished for.
